Josiah Wedgwood founded the Wedgwood company in 1759, and was responsible for creating different pottery styles. In the 1760s, Queen Charlotte was so impressed by a new Wedgwood style of pottery that she allowed Josiah to name it Queen’s Ware – thus its name!
The Wedgwood Queen’s Ware is cream colored. At the time Josiah created the Wedgwood Queen’s Ware, it was mostly used to make tableware items. But in the mid 1800s, Wedgwood Queen’s Ware expanded to include decorative items as well.
