George and William Penrose founded the Waterford Company in 1793. Waterford is the name of the Irish village that was/is its home. The Penrose brothers wanted to produce the finest crystal available. They not only wanted to produce the most beautiful, functional crystal (drinking vessels) but also the most beautiful decorative crystal. They succeed on both counts!
Waterford Crystal is available in many forms, but probably the most thought-of products are their beautiful glasses and serving bowls. The Waterford cut crystal is world renown for its simple beauty.
