Juan, José, and Vicente Lladró founded the Lladró company in 1853, in a small town outside of Valencia (Spain). Their business did so well that they had to move to a larger workshop, which for them meant moving to Tavernes Blanques.
The Lladró company trains their employees in the ceramic arts, which guarantees the fine workmanship that one expects from their fine decorative collectibles. Lladró is best known for their beautiful porcelain figurines. Lladró has been able to keep the ingredients in both their porcelain and their glazes a secret. Lladró porcelain figurines are created by only using one firing, which gives the famous Lladró figurines a beautiful, natural pastel coloring and a truly exquisite finish that appears almost crystalline.
