A lot of people know about René Lalique through his exquisite glass work. However, Lalique Jewelry is equally phenomenal.
Lalique worked as an apprentice (after his father’s death) to one of the top French jewelers of his time. After receiving that “informal” training, as well as getting his “formal” training in college, Lalique became a jewelry designer for some of the top French jewelry makers of his time. From there, Lalique went on to open his own jewelry shop.
As a naturalist, Lalique used many of nature’s bounties in his Lalique Jewelry. Pearls, gemstones, shells, ivory, and horn were some of nature’s items he enjoyed using in the Lalique Jewelry.
