When you see a Hummel figurine, you immediately know that it is a high quality collectible. The Hummel figurines are made out of porcelain… no cold cast resins here! Each Hummel figurine is fired bisque, which is then glazed and painted.
Franz Goebel saw the artwork of Sister Maria Innocentia (née Berta Hummel) and soon realized he wanted to produce a whole new type of porcelain figurine based on her beautiful paintings. The first porcelain Hummels were produced in 1935 and they have been immensely popular since then.
