Herend Fishnet designed china has a very distinctive look. It actually looks like a fish net, or even fish scales. The design is painted on the items before they are fired. Originally, Herend china was made in the mid 1800s in Herend, Hungary. Early pottery and china may have been found with a marking of MF on the bottom of the ware, indicating it was made by Moritz Fisher.
Some ware may only say Herend, and originally companies made mostly dinnerware. The Herend Fishnet pattern found on figurines make the items highly sought after.
