Hallmark Merry Miniatures collectibles began selling in 1974. Hallmark sold these, not as collectibles, but party favors. They created Merry Miniatures for several major holidays. Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween were the main themes of the Hallmark Merry Miniatures in 1974. The series evolved to include many other events and seasons.
Hallmark originally did not sell these series in boxes. They started offering a boxed set exclusively in 1996. The final change to the series was in 2000, when Hallmark once again offered the individual miniatures, but continued to offer the boxed sets.
The Merry Miniatures figurines are small, adorable, and worth searching out. They can be displayed alone or can be arranged together to form a display.
